In weeks 1&2, I want to start a relatively new project, the subject is still animals, but the specific method is still uncertain. But I want to incorporate some past tenses, such as extinct animals. At the same time, I also reviewed “the Classic of Mountains and Seas”. This ancient book records China's geography, legends, and species thousands of years ago. I have done related creations before, and I think this will be a good subject. I saw some discussions some time ago. Some people believe that some of the animals recorded in the book that are unimaginable as we currently know may still live on the earth. The ancients' descriptions of them are daily exaggerated and difficult to understand because of the backward observation methods at the time. People's fear of the wild can only be observed from far away or sometimes just a glance. When people try to communicate and spread, it isn't easy to accurately transmit information under the conditions. For example, a spider with a human face. At that time, people might say that the spider had a human head on its abdomen, but in fact, the spider's abdomen had a pattern similar to a human face.

In week 3, I have read much information about “the Classic of Mountains and Seas”, and the species described in it are fascinating. But I also realised that there would be several problems if I followed this line of thinking. The first point is the scene problem. The background involved here has higher requirements for the natural environment, but this may be not easy to achieve during the lockdown period. The second point is that most of the species in “the Classic of Mountains and Seas” can only be reconstructed and drawn through imagination at present, which will cause the project time to be significantly extended, and the time is entirely insufficient. So although I like this concept very much, I have no choice but to give up.

In week 4, The current overall direction is to focus on extinct or endangered species and then discuss the proposal's content.

In weeks 5&6, During this period, a large amount of information about extinct species and their image data were collected. Originally I wanted to focus on Australian native species, but I found that the information and animal numbers in this area are limited, so the scope must be expanded.

In week 7, The original plan was to use online material like the previous project. Because there are many extinct species in the range, it is tough to use image data. At this time, their paintings became the first choice. Still, I also found that many of the pictures were unsatisfactory, and the quality and style of the images were uneven and difficult to be unified.

In week 8, The progress of the project has fallen far behind expectations. Fortunately, I had contacted my friend before and asked him to help me draw related materials. Some of the current sample drawings are not bad.

In week 9, Dr Barry suggested that I put the works of the previous semesters together when I do the final presentation. I didn't think about this before. Although I kept working on projects with the same topic, I ignored this idea.

In week 10, The progress of the project is delayed, and the efficiency of drawing is also behind expectations. Although it has been a few weeks, the efficiency of each week has been lagging to a certain extent, causing the overall progress to be significantly lagging.

In weeks 11&12, Although the current progress is slow, fortunately, there are already some good finished products. The finishing of the previous works is also relatively smooth, and the rest is to continue completing the new project and printing the current results.
